The field of application for image processing or optical pattern recognition is the non-contact testing of materials and components. Automatic optical inspection (AOI) makes it possible, among other things, to check for defects, completeness, weld seam formation, surface defects such as cracks, pores and dents, shaping/moulding, etc.
Industrial cameras and intelligent evaluation algorithms support you reliably and precisely in the areas of profile control, tolerance testing or straightness testing.
No matter whether profile shape, shaping, contour, position, dimensional accuracy, shape, dimension or linearity.
A laser line is projected on the surface to be inspected and scanned by a camera during movement. This produces a high-resolution 3D image of the surface.
This allows for exact measurement as well as for the detection of defects. The advantage is the exact depth measurement.
For crack tests on ferromagnetic steel parts in the aerospace or automotive industry, the crack indicators can be reinforced by flux testing (magnetic particle testing, e.g. according to DIN EN 10228-1).
In the case of non-magnetic materials, the colour penetration test (according to EN ISO 3059) is used as an indicator amplifier for crack detection.
Typical fields of application are highly loaded turbines, engine or brake components and other safety-relevant components.
